Support Guide: MITECO Label (OECC)

• Communication regarding the carbon footprint registration obtained from MITECO must be carried out in accordance with the guide provided by the OECC, respecting the conditions for using the seal.

• The Royal Decree regulating the registry establishes that organizations registered in the carbon footprint and reduction and/or offsetting commitments section may use an accrediting label, provided their registration is current.

• The label is the property of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge and must be used only in relation to the registered scope and year, avoiding any use that may be misleading.

Upon receiving the Carbon Footprint Registry label, the organization commits to:

• Complying with the User Manual and OECC guidelines.

• Using the label only in relation to the registered year and scope.

• Using the label only while the registration in the Registry is current.

• Respecting the intellectual property of the logo (do not modify or alter its design).

• Not using the label on products or commercial labeling.

• Not making comparative, deceptive, or misleading use, avoiding any practice that could be interpreted as misleading environmental communication (greenwashing).

• Removing the label in the event of loss or modification of the registration.

When an organization registers in the registry, it receives a registration certificate and the right to use a label. This label allows one to distinguish at a glance:

• The organization’s level of participation in the Registry: whether it calculates its footprint, has managed to reduce it, or has offset all or part of it.

• The year to which this level of participation corresponds.

• Inclusion in the digital signature of the organization’s team.

• Dissemination through the corporate website and other online communication channels.

• Inclusion in reports, annual reports, or technical and commercial proposals.

• Use in institutional presentations and corporate information material.

• Integration into digital business cards.
