Carbon Footprint and agriculture

The biggest study in Spain on Carbon Footprint calculation for farms and agricultural products.

Study for the labor union "Unión de Pequeños Agricultores y Ganaderos" in Spain about the Carbon Footprint values of products in the agricultural spanish market. We developed 135 Carbon Footprints of farms and its products throughout Spain. Solid Forest drafted a final report of conclusions and total results. Solid Forest developed also an on-line sectorial calculator to be used by farmers and professional consultants. The project included the implementatios of a new e-learning platform and a realtional data base with all the Carbon Footprint values.

This project was promoted by the labor union "Federación de Asociaciones de Mujeres Rurales FADEMUR" in collaboration with "Asociación Nacional Energcocina" fundation to promote the consumption of sustainable products in restaurants and catering companies. Solid Forest calculated 13 Carbon Footprints of agricultural products produced by entrepreneurs women. Solid Forest created a customized e-learning platform and courses promoting sustainable practices in farming and cooking.

Chiruca mountain boots

Product Carbon Footprint

The shoes manufacturer FAL Calzados decided, as part of the corporate social responsibility, to implement the Carbon Footprint analysis of one of their main products. Adhering to PAS 2050 and ISO 14040 normatives Solid Forest developed the Life Cycle Assessment of Chiruca mountain boots. These boots are manufactured in Arnedo village (La Rioja). tThe system boundary was from cradle to grave, this means the distribution and end of life phases were included in the analysis. In addition to treking boots study Solid Forest calculated the Carbon Footprint value of a safety footwear model. The results of this project were verified by AENOR Certifier.
